About our Honoree:
Dr. Lynne Judd, a South Huntington
resident since 1980, received her Ph.D. in
School-Community Psychology from Hofstra
University in 1979. She worked in private
practice as well as in the Wyandanch,
Harborfields, Shoreham-Wading River, and
Middle Country School Districts before
opting for retirement in June, 2007.
Lynne’s contributions to South
Huntington began in 1986 at Maplewood
where she served as PTA treasurer and
executive committee member before
becoming co-president of Countrywood’s PTA
and president at both Stimson and Whitman’s
PTAs. Throughout this time, Lynne held
almost every possible position available in
PTA, including the Nominating Committee
for the Suffolk Region, Reflections Chair
(three years), Jenkins Scholarship, and
Honorary Life and Distinguished Service
Committees, floor manager for the annual
PTA convention, and many, many others.
Beyond these, Lynne also became active in
the Wildcat Booster Club, serving as its vice-
president and volunteering her time for
fundraisers such as Magic Masters and the
Booster Club’s own golf outing.
Lynne and her husband Larry (also a
school psychologist) married in 1977 and have
raised four children – Caitlin (WWHS, 1999),
Lawrence (WWHS, 2001), Aileen (WWHS,
2004), and Douglas (WWHS, 2009).
SHEF welcomes Dr. Lynne Judd as its 2009
honoree and gratefully acknowledges her
untiring efforts to maintain the fine
reputation of the South Huntington School
District.
MISSION STATEMENT It is the mission of the SHEF to enhance the quality of education by generating and distributing financial and other resources to and for the SHUFSD for programs and projects not provided for in the school budget.
